Recycling Bins
Extra green bins have been obtained for the disposal of recycling. Please read the notices regarding the items which can be recycled. Lessees are reminded not to put black bin bags in the green bins as they will be rejected and the whole bin not emptied.
Bin Sheds
We are still getting rubbish being left outside the bin stores. This results in rats and foxes ripping open the bin bags and encouraging other vermin. Remember the mess has to be cleared up by our staff. If you have lost your key please contact the office for a replacement at a cost of £6.00. Please do not leave large household items in any of the bin sheds, please contact the office and it can be arranged to be disposed of for a fee.
Lighting
Scotney Gardens has invested in LED light bulbs in all communal areas in order to reduce costs and ultimately reduce your service charge. Light timers are periodically adjusted so that we are not wasting electricity with lights being on during the day. When the clocks go forward or backwards, the lights will be adjusted to reflect this.
Heaters
Directors have made the decision that to reduce the costs, communal heaters will only be switched on if there are 3 or more consecutive days of sub-zero temperatures. It was felt that the most of the benefits of the heaters dissipated through the letter boxes and front doors.
